80% of People develop low back pain

Everything from a low grade ache to shooting pain all the way to the foot. Many people ignore the mild pain at the beginning and most have hurt for 2 years before considering treatment

Why do you need a multidisciplinary team: research says the team approach works better AND costs less!

Patients with chronic low back pain who saw a chiropractor had lower costs of care and got better FASTER.  Patients who received a combination of chiropractic and medical care had the next lowest Medicare costs, and patients who received medical care only incurred the highest costs. ( Weeks et al (2016), Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics)

Why did I get Low back Pain?

Back pain can be from injury or a fall but most often it’s from repetitive  stress on the spine from normal, everyday activities.

The low back supports most of our body weight and, relies heavily on stability of the spine.

Like the frame of a building, the spine should be straight and level.

If the spine becomes unstable (think sprained ankle)  it can lead to tight muscles, pinched nerves and bulged discs

Pain is simply a warning sign that something is not functioning as it should.

The combination of chiropractic (to align the spine) and physical therapy (to strengthen muscles that support the spine is key

Even if the pain has been present for years, the results can be dramatic.

And the news gets worse…

As if back pain was not bad enough, decreased activity is directly associated with increased risk of dementia and osteoporosis

No one else has been able to help me….

If you have not been helped by others, MAKE SURE to call as research shows that multi-disciplinary care, with better access to a team of professionals, produces better results

Back pain?

Too often you will be told you should just decrease your activity, take ibuprofen, and you’ll be fine.

Unfortunately, drugs only mask pain; they cannot cure your back pain. Those over-the-counter pain relievers are not safe. Simple aspirin, if taken over a long period of time, can cause damage to your liver, kidneys, and stomach lining. Just this year the CDC has taken a hard line against opioid pain medications.

The CDC recommends that all patients taking pain medications should be advised by their doctor to try alternatives like physical therapy, chiropractic and acupuncture.

Masking pain just makes it easier to ignore. It’s like ignoring the warning light on your car’s dashboard. Just because you’re ignoring it, doesn’t mean it’s not there. Masked pain keeps you from seeking to cure the underlying cause, such as postural problems or repetitive stress. Problems usually become progressively worse over time.

There is an abundance of high-quality scientific evidence that proves that chiropractic care for low back pain is more effective and less expensive than the “old school” method of masking the symptoms with drugs and rest.

Action Medical offers safe, effective ways of treating both the life-dominating pain of a spinal injury or the debilitating and tiresome effects of long term, chronic back pain. We offer new and unique solutions to correcting postural issues and other underlying causes of low back pain. Spinal decompression along with other methods of adjustment or manipulation can provide relief for spinal stenosis, backache and many other conditions.

Our goal is to empower our patients to “Live Your Life” and be active and vibrant, not lead a life of ever-decreasing activity in an effort to “run away from pain” by becoming less vital and active.
