Stop Living With Knee Pain

Get relief from knee pain and stiffness without the dangers of surgery and knee replacement.

Pain relievers and cortisone shots are often not enough to alleviate the symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee. These methods for masking knee pain also come with side effects. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently increased the warning on commonly used pain relievers because of a drastically increased risk of heart attack and stroke linked to even short term use of these medicines. Arthroscopic knee surgery has been shown to have only limited, short term benefit and all knee surgeries are invasive procedures that put you at risk for complications and infections.

Innovative Non-surgical treatment is now available.

Action Medical Center now offers an innovative, non-surgical alternative for the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee. This program has been designed to give you relief from knee pain and stiffness without the side effects of medicine or the risks of surgery! Our knee program uses FDA approved treatments in a tested and proven protocol. While the treatment is not new, we are the first to offer it in the CSRA! Patients who qualify for and participate in this non-surgical approach to treating osteoarthritis of the knee enjoy a high success rate!* Get the vitality you have been missing!

How it Works

Once you qualify for our knee pain treatment program, our team of professionals will develop a treatment plan based on your specific needs. This plan may include viscosupplementation, physical therapy, a lightweight brace to stabilize your knee and chiropractic care to restore proper alignment.

Viscosupplementation

Sodium hyaluronate injections are given by our doctors into the knee using ultrasound guidance. This is an FDA approved solution of  which supplements the naturally occurring lubricant in your knee. Sodium hyaluronate is sold under the brand names Supartz® and GenVisc®. This supplementation is typically done once a week for five weeks. This breaks the cycle of inflammation and replaces the joint’s natural lubricating fluid while relieving your pain and allowing more movement of the joint. This reduction in pain makes it possible for our team to work with you and utilize your knee’s own natural healing ability to restore function and reduce pain.*

Patients are often able to resume their normal activities immediately without the need for assistive devices such as canes and walkers.* In some cases the doctor may recommend a knee brace to stabilize the knee for faster recovery. Our recommended brace is very lightweight and designed to stabilize your knee while allowing you to participate in the activities you enjoy.

Get Moving Faster

The knee was designed to move. Our program is designed to assist your body’s natural healing ability and accelerate your return to full  mobility. Our physical therapy and chiropractic departments will work with you during your course of treatment to restore movement and correct imbalances. This is extremely important because without proper exercise the inflammatory cycle will return along with the pain. It is also important to understand the hip joints as well as the ankle joint can affect function of the knee joint. Our team will address all three joints. The most often recommended knee rehabilitation treatment program is three times per week for 6-8 weeks. Patients who do physical therapy have a much better recovery rate than those who do not. Your care team may also give you exercises designed to strengthen the muscles around your knee and help stabilize the joint. Doing these exercises as prescribed will also accelerate your recovery rate.
